I’ve felt that a story about Seng Luangrath’s garden would be a really interesting one to tell. When I interviewed Chef Seng back in 2014 for my profile story on her (Seng Luangrath’s Dream Come True), it was clear then that her garden was an integral part of her life. Ingredients from her garden were showcased at her restaurant, Bangkok Golden. Her burgeoning Instagram account regularly featured photos of what she grew there. Fast forward two years, with Thip Khao, a second successful restaurant, and the increased popularity of Instagram, Chef Seng’s garden has become a star in its own right. That I was ensconced in Calfornia and Chef Seng was traveling in Laos made for a tricky time of it, but we managed to get the story done (plus two recipes to boot) for Edible DC Magazine.
